1-step paint correction

Car polishing, done properly, is a 1-step paint correction. After a full wash and decontamination, we machine polish every painted panel with a finishing polish. It removes a fine layer of the light marks that dull your paint, like wash swirls, haze and water spot etching, and leaves the surface glossy and clear.

A 1-step is the right choice when the paint is in fair condition and you want a big jump in gloss without the time and cost of a full correction. If your paint has heavy swirling or scratches you can catch with a fingernail, a 2-step paint correction will remove much more.

What paint correction actually does

Swirl marks and light scratches are tiny grooves in the clear coat. They catch light at different angles, which makes paint look hazy and dull. Correction levels the surface so light reflects evenly again.

Benefits of ceramic coating

Gloss comes back

Levelled clear coat reflects light evenly, so the paint looks deep and wet again.

Swirls fade from view

The spider-web marks you see in direct sun are polished out, not hidden.

Haze and oxidation removed

Dull, chalky paint is brought back to its real colour.

Better resale and photos

Corrected paint makes a big difference when you sell or list the car.

Ready for a coating

Corrected paint is the right base for a ceramic coating to lock in.

Water spots reduced

Etching left by hard water and rain is polished down.

Good to know before you book

Scratches that go through the clear coat cannot be polished out safely. We point those out before we start.

Correction removes a very thin layer of clear coat, so it is done with care and only as much as the paint needs.

Correction does not protect the paint on its own. A ceramic coating keeps the result.

Questions, answered

What is car polishing?

Car polishing is machine polishing the clear coat to remove fine marks and bring back gloss. Our car polishing is a 1-step paint correction: one polishing stage after a full wash and decontamination.

What is the difference between 1-step and 2-step paint correction?

A 1-step uses one polishing stage and removes light swirls and haze. A 2-step adds a cutting stage first, so it removes heavier swirls and light scratches, then refines the finish.

How much does car polishing cost in Toronto?

Our 1-step paint correction starts at $399 for a coupe or sedan, $449 for a 2-row SUV and $499 for a truck, 3-row SUV or 6+ seat vehicle. The final price is confirmed after we see your paint.

How long does car polishing take?

Plan for about 5 hours, including the wash and decontamination beforehand.

Will polishing remove scratches?

It removes light swirls and very light scratches. Deeper scratches need a 2-step correction, and scratches that go through the clear coat cannot be polished out.
