Paint correction is machine polishing that removes swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation from your clear coat instead of hiding them. Our 2-step correction uses a cutting stage and then a polishing stage. Peak Polish does it on site across Toronto and the GTA, from $649, in about 7 hours.

2-step paint correction

Paint correction is machine polishing that removes defects from your clear coat instead of hiding them. Swirl marks from automatic car washes, light scratches, haze and oxidation are levelled away, which brings back the depth and reflection the paint had when it was new.

Our 2-step correction starts with a cutting stage that does the heavy lifting on swirls and scratches, then a polishing stage that refines the paint to a high gloss. It takes longer than car polishing (1-step), but it removes far more. Every job starts with our full exterior wash and decontamination, so we polish clean paint.

What paint correction actually does

Swirl marks and light scratches are tiny grooves in the clear coat. They catch light at different angles, which makes paint look hazy and dull. Correction levels the surface so light reflects evenly again.

Benefits of ceramic coating

Gloss comes back

Levelled clear coat reflects light evenly, so the paint looks deep and wet again.

Swirls fade from view

The spider-web marks you see in direct sun are polished out, not hidden.

Haze and oxidation removed

Dull, chalky paint is brought back to its real colour.

Better resale and photos

Corrected paint makes a big difference when you sell or list the car.

Ready for a coating

Corrected paint is the right base for a ceramic coating to lock in.

Water spots reduced

Etching left by hard water and rain is polished down.

Good to know before you book

Scratches that go through the clear coat cannot be polished out safely. We point those out before we start.

Correction removes a very thin layer of clear coat, so it is done with care and only as much as the paint needs.

Correction does not protect the paint on its own. A ceramic coating keeps the result.

Questions, answered

What is paint correction?

Machine polishing that removes a very thin layer of clear coat to take out swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation, rather than filling or hiding them.

How much does paint correction cost in Toronto?

Our 2-step paint correction starts at $649 for a coupe or sedan, $749 for a 2-row SUV and $849 for a truck, 3-row SUV or 6+ seat vehicle. The final price is confirmed after we see your paint.

1-step or 2-step paint correction: which do I need?

If the swirls are light and the paint just looks dull, a 1-step is usually enough. If you see heavy swirling or scratches that catch the light, choose 2-step. Send us photos in sunlight and we will tell you.

How long does paint correction take?

Plan for about 7 hours, including the wash and decontamination. Large vehicles or heavily swirled paint can take longer.

Should I get a ceramic coating after paint correction?

It is the best way to keep the result. Correction removes defects but does not protect the paint. See paint correction + ceramic coating.
